EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Four fans involved in a brawl at the New England Patriots-New York Jets game in East Rutherford, N.J., Sunday have been charged with assault, police said.

A male Jets fan allegedly struck a female Patriots fan in the face during the brawl, and Tuesday the man, Kurt Paschke, 38, of Holbrook, N.Y., and the woman, Jaclyn Nugent, 26, of Boston, were charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, the new Jersey State police reported.

Two other Patriots fans, Amanda MacDowell, 25, of Marlborough, Mass., and David Sacco, 28, of Boston were charged with the same offenses, the New York Times said Wednesday.

Police said the fight broke out after the Jets' overtime victory.

A video of the incident received widespread attention when it was posted on the Internet, the newspaper said.

The Jets, citing "zero tolerance for this behavior," released a statement Tuesday banning those arrested from attending future games.
