NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Cory Schneider notched a 22-save shutout Saturday and the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers 4-0 Saturday for their first win of the season.
Schneider, acquired in a June trade with the Vancouver Canucks, posted the whitewash in his first home start with the Devils.

Andrei Loktionov and Adam Henrique each got a first-period goal while Michael Ryder and Dainius Zubrus tallied in the second for the Devils, who ended a team-record seven-game losing streak beginning the season.
Henrik Lundqvist made 15 saves for likewise struggling New York, which fell for the fifth time in seven games.
