NHL: Nashville 4, Florida 3

NASHVILLE, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Craig Smith netted the go-ahead goal in the third period and added an assist Tuesday, propelling the Nashville Predators over Florida 4-3.

The game was tied 2-2 when Smith struck 1:22 into the final period, firing home the rebound of a Gabriel Bourque shot following a Panthers turnover.

Craig also assisted on a Mike Fisher goal and in second period, which gave Nashville a brief 2-1 lead.

Fisher added a helper while Shea Weber and Patric Hornqvist each scored for the Predators, who won for the third time in four games.

Pekka Rinne stopped 22-of-25 shots in the victory.

Matt Gilroy, Marcel Goc and Jonathan Huberdeau each found the net for Florida.

Jacob Markstrom made 26 saves in the loss.
