Steelers' Brown, Johnson placed on injured reserve

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Levi Brown, who suffered a torn triceps muscle during pre-game warm-ups Sunday, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, the team said.

Brown was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals 10 days ago, and never played a down for the Steelers, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Tight end David Johnson, who hurt his wrist in the game Sunday against the New York Jets, was also placed on injured reserve.

The seasons for Brown and Johnson have ended, and the Steelers filled the roster spots by signing free agent tight end Richard Gordon, who spent two seasons with the Oakland Raiders, and promoted cornerback Isaiah Green from the practice squad, the newspaper said.
