NHL: Toronto 4, Minnesota 1

TORONTO, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- James Reimer stopped 37-of-38 shots Tuesday and the Toronto Maple Leafs improved to 6-1-0 with a 4-1 victory over Minnesota.

Reimer made 17 of his saves during the first period as Toronto grabbed a 2-0 lead on goals from Tyler Bozak and Trevor Smith despite managing only three shots.

Mason Raymond added two more tallies for Toronto, which continued its best start to a season since 1993, when it began 10-0-0.

Minnesota's Darcy Kuemper started in net and yielded three goals on seven shots before being pulled in the second period in favor of Josh Harding, who turned aside all six shots he faced.

Jason Pominville got the only goal for the Wild.
