Igor Sijsling defeated Tobias Kamke 6-4, 6-2 as he saved nine of the 11 break-point chances for Kamke. Sijsling also took advantage of Kamke's second serve, winning more than two-thirds of the points when Kamke failed on his first serve and he missed on more than half of those serves.

Also, Pablo Carreno Busta advanced when, with the score 5-5 in the first set, Jurgen Zopp was injured and unable to continue.

David Ferrer, who on Monday moved to No. 3 in the world rankings, is the top seed for the Stockholm Open. With 2012 champion Tomas Berdych skipping the event this year, there are no previous winners at the tournament.
