MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 4, Atlanta 3

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Juan Uribe cracked a go-ahead, two-run homer Monday and the Los Angeles Dodgers advanced to the NL Championship Series with a 4-3 win over Atlanta.

The Dodgers were trailing 3-2 in the eighth inning when Yasiel Puig led off against David Carpenter (0-1) with a double down the right field line.

Uribe then came up and worked the count to 2-2 before clubbing a pitch over the left-field fence for the decisive blow.

Brian Wilson (1-0) earned the victory with a scoreless top of the eighth and Kenley Jansen struck out the side in the ninth for the save as the Dodgers bested the Braves 3-1 in their NL division series.

Carl Crawford smacked a pair of solo homers for Los Angeles, which gained its first NLCS since 2009.

Chris Johnson went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Andrelton Simmons and Jose Constanza each drove in a run for Atlanta, which failed to get past the NLDS for the eighth time in nine post-season appearances.
