NHL: Anaheim 4, Minnesota 3 (OT)

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Mathieu Perreault scored with 5 seconds left in overtime Saturday, letting the Anaheim Ducks slip by Minnesota 4-3.

On the game-winning play, Perreault received a pass from Francois Beauchemin and used a backhander to beat Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom through the pads.

Perrault also notched an assist.

Nick Bonino, Saku Koivu and Jakob Silfverberg each scored for the Ducks, who recorded their first victory after a season-opening 6-1 loss to Colorado.

Jonas Hiller stopped 30-of-33 shots for Anaheim.

Zach Parise scored twice and Jason Pominville also tallied for Minnesota, which has opened the season 0-0-2.

Backstrom finished with 26 saves.
