Hernandez cousin arraigned for aiding getaway of alleged accomplice

BOSTON, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- A Connecticut woman has been arraigned for allegedly aiding the getaway of a friend of ex-NFL player Aaron Hernandez, who is charged in the death of Odin Lloyd.

Tanya Singleton, 37, of Bristol, Conn., was charged in a Massachusetts court with conspiring to be an accessory in Lloyd's shooting death in June, the Boston Herald reported Monday.

Singleton pleaded not guilty to the charges. A cousin to Hernandez, Singleton was already in jail for refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating Lloyd's death.

Prosecutors say she intended to drive Ernest Wallace to Florida, but her car broke down in Georgia, where she bought Wallace a bus ticket to continue his trip.

Wallace has been charged as an accessory after the fact to Lloyd's death in North Attleboro, Mass.

Hernandez, a former New England Patriots tight end, and Wallace were indicted in August.
