MLB: Arizona 3, Washington 2

PHOENIX, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A.J. Pollock and Martin Prado each had an RBI single during an eighth-inning rally that boosted Arizona to a 3-2 season-finale win over Washington Sunday.

Prado's hit tied it up at 2-2 and Pollock followed with the key blow off Ryan Mattheus (0-2) as the Diamondbacks (81-81) avoided a three-game sweep and finished at .500 for the second straight year.

David Hernandez (5-6) earned the decision and Brad Ziegler notched his 13th save after starter of Wade Miley had allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings.

Tanner Roark yielded just one unearned run on three hits in a seven-inning stint for the Nationals (86-76), who fell in the final game for retiring Manager Davey Johnson.
