SOLON, Ohio, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Police said they arrested former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
A news release from the Solon Police Department said officers pulled Kosar over at 2:42 a.m. local time on SOM Center Road for speeding.

Upon smelling the strong odor of alcohol, police had the former NFL player perform field sobriety tests, at which point he was arrested and taken to Solon Police Department, the release said.
Kosar quarterbacked the Browns from 1985 to 1993 and was considered the team's starter in his second season, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported. The team advanced to the AFC championship game three times under Kosar's tenure.
