MIAMI, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A three-run double by Giancarlo Stanton in the third accounted for Miami's scoring Friday and the Marlins held on to edge Detroit 3-2.
With two games left in the season, Miami won for the 60th time.

Stanton's three RBI gave Miami a 3-0 lead, allowing the Marlins to withstand a run-scoring single in the fifth by Austin Jackson and an RBI double in the sixth by Jhonny Peralta.
Tom Koehler (5-10) was credited with the victory after giving up two runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. It was Miami's fourth win in six games. Steve Cishek worked around a leadoff single in the ninth for his 34th save.
Jose Alvarez (1-5) survived only 2 2/3 innings, giving up the three Miami runs on two hits.
