Radwanska breezes into Korea Open semifinals

SEOUL, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- World No 4-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska dropped just two games Friday in advancing to the semifinals of the KDB Korea Open tennis tournament in Seoul.

Radwanska pasted Vera Dushevina 6-2, 6-0 in 62 minutes. Radwanska improved to 4-0 in her career versus Dushevina, winning each match in straight sets.

Radwanska dropped just 11 points on serve, winning five or her seven service games at love. She also won 58 percent of the points off Dushevina's serve.

Third-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova had nearly as lopsided a win, beating Irina-Camelia Begu 6-2, 6-2 with six breaks. She took 60 percent of the points on serve and 61 percent when receiving.

Pavlyuchenkova draws Francesca Schiavone in Saturday semifinals. Schiavone improved to 4-0 lifetime versus Kimiko Date-Krumm 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a 2-hour match in which the combined age of the players was 75. Schiavone, 33, needed 2 hours, 41 minutes to win her second-round match.

Lara Arruabarrena is the fourth semifinalist, having beaten Jang Su-jeong 6-0, 6-4. Arruabarrena lost only eight points in the first set.

Radwanska takes a 1-0 record versus Arruabarrena into Saturday's semifinals. Schiavone owns a 3-2 career edge over Pavlyuchenkova in the second semi matchup.
