OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- C.J. Wilson collected his 17th victory with seven strong innings Monday and the Los Angeles Angels banged out 15 hits in their 12-1 romp over Oakland.
Wilson (17-6) improved to 9-0 in his last 13 starts and 13-1 since June 14, yielding just one run on four hits. The left-hander walked three and struck out six.
Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo each cracked a two-run homer and finished with three RBI while Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 and also drove in three runs as the Angels routed their division rivals in the first of a three-game series.
Jarrod Parker (11-7) was battered for eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, lasting just 4 1/3 inning for the American League West-leading Athletics.
Derek Norris provided Oakland's only RBI.
