PITTSBURGH, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau's run-scoring single in the eighth inning Sunday provided the difference in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Tony Sanchez socked a solo homer for the Pirates, who with their sixth win in seven games retained at least a share of first place with St. Louis in the National League Central.

Kyle Farnsworth (1-0) was credited with the victory after Bucs starter Francisco Liriano had yielded two runs on three hits over six-plus innings.
Chicago's Pedro Strop (2-2) absorbed the loss.
Welington Castillo bashed a two-run homer as the Cubs fell for the fourth time in five games.
