EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Mika Miyazato piled up seven birdies in taking the first-round lead Friday at the LPGA's Evian Championship in France.

The first round of the tournament -- the fifth major in women's golf this year -- was to have been played Thursday but recent heavy rains in eastern France left the course unplayable. Organizers rescheduled the first round for Friday and the second round Saturday. They plan a 36-hole finish on Sunday.

Miyazato, despite a bogey at the par-5 15th hole, shot a 6-under-par 65 and is one stroke ahead of three other players, including Suzann Pettersen, who dropped out of the lead due to a bogey at 18.

Sandra Gal was bogey-free Friday while Pak Se-ri had six birdies and a bogey en route to her 66. Pettersen bogeyed No. 2 in addition to the 18th but also had seven birdies.

Christina Kim is alone in fifth place at 4-under while Lydia Ko, Karrie Webb, Michelle Wie and Lindsey Wright are tied for sixth at 3-under 68.

Miyazato was 4-under on the front nine and got to 6-under the first time with a birdie at 13. While she had the bogey at 15, Miyazato took the lead with a 17th-hole birdie.

World No. 1 Inbee Park, who won the first three women's golf majors this year, is tied for 72nd after an opening round of 3-over 74. Stacy Lewis, the Women's British Open champion, is tied for 10th, four strokes behind Miyazato.
