Esteban Toledo tops Kenny Perry in Montreal Championship playoff

SAINTE-JULIE, Quebec, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Esteban Toledo recorded a birdie on the first playoff hole Sunday, besting Kenny Perry for the Montreal Championship title.

Toledo's tournament-winning putt came after he had registered a 3-under 69, ending 54 holes knotted with Perry (2-under 70) at 5-under-par 211.

Claiming sole possession of third place one shot further back was Duffy Waldorf (70).

Bernhard Langer, who entered Sunday with a three-shot lead, fell out of contention with a 3-over 75.

He finished in a four-way for fourth at minus-3 with David Frost (70), Michael Allen (71) and Anders Forsbrand (72).
