The loss threw additional cold water on Arizona's playoff hopes. The Diamondbacks were eight games behind Cincinnati in the wild card race.

Todd Redmond (3-2) survived to claim the victory despite allying four hits, including home runs by Adam Eaton and Didi Gregorius.

Wade Miley (9-10) took the loss after making an early departure. Miley lasted 1 2/3 innings and allowed five runs on eight hits and a pair of walks.

Toronto took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added four more in the second, including one on Davis' homer.
