NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Edwin Nunez capped an eighth-inning rally with a go-ahead, two-run double Tuesday and the New York Yankees came back to shock the Chicago White Sox 6-4.
Trailing 4-1 in the eighth, the Yankees exploded for five runs to grab control of the game.
Derek Jeter singled with one out and Robinson Cano followed with a double to chase White Sox starter Chris Sale.
After Nate Jones (4-5) took the mound, Alfonso Soriano greeted him with a two-run single up the middle.
Alex Rodriguez followed with another single and Chicago's Donnie Veal took the mound, only to surrender a score-tying single to pinch-hitter Curtis Granderson.
