MLB: San Francisco 8, Arizona 2

PHOENIX, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Hector Sanchez drove in three runs to back Yusmeiro Petit's six solid innings Sunday in San Francisco's 8-2 spanking of Arizona.

Sanchez erased a 1-0 deficit in the second inning with a run-scoring groundout, then delivered a two-run double in the fourth for a 3-1 Giants lead.

Hunter Pence went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two RBI and three runs scored while Buster Posey added three hits and a pair of RBI as the Giants banged out 15 hits.

Petit (2-0) struck out 10, yielding two runs on seven hits with a walk.

The rookie right-hander, making his second major league, also provided an RBI single as the Giants took 2-of-3 from the Diamondbacks.

Arizona's Patrick Corbin (13-5) was tagged for five runs on nine hits over five full innings.

Adam Eaton and Martin Prado each drove in a run for he D-backs.
