ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Adam Lind ripped two solo homers Saturday, helping the Toronto Blue Jays cool off Tampa Bay 6-2.
Lind's first bases-empty blast came in the sixth inning and gave the Blue Jays a 4-2 lead, while his second capped the scoring in the eighth as Toronto rebounded from a 5-4 loss in Friday's three-game series opener.
Jose Bautista also went deep while Edwin Encarnacion and Brett Lawrie each added an RBI for the winners.
J.A. Happ (3-2) went 5 1/3 innings to claim the victory, surrendering two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out five.
Roberto Hernandez (6-13) absorbed the loss after coughing up five runs (four earned) on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings as the Rays saw their three-game winning streak snapped.
The second-place Rays, who had pulled to within one game of American League East-leading Boston during the streak, fell to two games back with the loss.
Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar each drove in a run for Tampa Bay.
