There will be eight team matches played on both Friday and Saturday with 12 singles matches scheduled for Sunday.

The American players have won eight of the 12 showdowns with their European opponents, but Europe captured the most recent competition in Ireland two years ago. The United States has never lost the Solheim Cup at home.

Lewis, who won the Women's British Open two weeks ago at St. Andrews, will team with Salas in the first of Friday's alternate-shot matches against Europe's Anna Nordqvist and Caroline Hedwall.

Brittany Lang and Angela Stanford will represent the United States in the second match against Suzann Pettersen and Beatriz Recari. Americans Morgan Pressel and Jessica Korda will then meet Catriona Matthew and Jodi Ewart-Shadoff, after which Christie Kerr and Paula Creamer will play against Azahara Munoz and Karine Icher.

Four fourball matches will be played Friday afternoon.

One point is awarded for each match winner with a half point going to each side if the match is tied after 18 holes. The first team to reach 14 1/2 points wins the cup and if the competition ends in a 14-14 tie, Europe will retain possession of the trophy.
