MLS: Chicago 2, Montreal 1

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Joel Lindpere and Dilly Duka each scored in the first half Saturday and the Chicago Fire rode their goals to a 2-1 win over Montreal.

Lindpere gave the Fire a quick lead in the 6th minute when his shot bounded off defender Daniele Paponi and into the net.

Duka doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute when he lost the ball but got it back on a deflection and put it into the lower corner of the net for Chicago (9-9-4), which reached the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Felipe Martins scored for the Impact (10-7-5), who fell into fourth place the Eastern Conference.
