NFL: Arizona 17, Green Bay 0

GREEN BAY, Wis., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Carson Palmer, appearing in an Arizona uniform for the first time, threw a touchdown pass Friday in helping the Cardinals defeat Green Bay 17-0.

Arizona endured a nine-game losing streak last season, leading to huge changes. Bruce Arians was hired away from Indianapolis to coach the team, three of the four quarterbacks who played for the Cardinals last year are no longer with the club and the top two running backs have moved on.

Palmer was picked up in a trade with Oakland and he went 4-for-6 for 77 yards in his exhibition debut. He hit Andre Roberts with a 38-yard scoring pass in the first period.

Arizona rookie Stepfan Taylor ran for 63 yards on 21 carries.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers completed 3-of-5 passes in one series of work.
