MLB: Arizona 7, Tampa Bay 0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 31 (UPI) -- Three RBI from Eric Chavez supported the two-hit pitching of Wade Miley Wednesday, sending Arizona coasting to a 7-0 victory over Tampa Bay.

The Rays lost for just the third time in 14 games.

Cody Ross singled in two runs in the first and Chavez hit a two-run homer in the third to double the lead. Chavez also had an RBI single in the seventh and Paul Goldschmidt ended the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth.

Miley (8-8) threw 116 pitches over 6 1/3 innings, striking out eight. Heath Bell and J.J. Putz combined to give up a hit over the final 2 2/3.

Jeremy Hellickson (10-4) suffered his first loss since June 13, a span of eight starts. He surrendered four runs on seven hits in 4 1/3.
