MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 14, Toronto 5

TORONTO, July 22 (UPI) -- A.J. Ellis went 4-for-5 with a homer and five RBI Monday, powering the streaking Los Angeles Dodgers to a 14-5 interleague rout of Toronto.

Ellis opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the second, later adding RBI singles in the third, sixth and seventh innings as Los Angeles banged out 16 hits en route to the one-sided victory.

Skip Schumaker belted a three-run homer while Carl Crawford went 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Dodgers, who stayed hot with a fourth straight win and 10th in 12 games.

The second-place Dodgers came into the contest trailing National League West-leading Arizona by one-half game.

Hyun-Jin Ryu (8-3) held the Blue Jays to four runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings, notching the decision.

Toronto starter Josh Johnson (1-6) lasted just two full innings, surrendering five runs on seven hits.

Mark DeRosa went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Melky Cabrera added two hits, including a run-scoring single, as the Blue Jays dropped the first of a three-game interleague set.
