MLS: New England 2, Columbus 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 21 (UPI) -- Jose Goncalves and Diego Fagundez each scored in stoppage time Saturday, lifting the New England Revolution over Columbus 2-0.

The two teams battled through 91 scoreless minutes until Goncalves finally found the mark for New England, heading home a corner kick from Lee Nguyen at the back post for a 1-0 lead.

Fagundez doubled the advantage in the closing seconds after a Columbus turnover, converting a Nguyen pass for an insurance tally as New England (7-7-6) remained in the hunt for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

The Crew (7-7-6) was relegated to sixth place in the East.
