BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., July 21 (UPI) -- Joel Lindpere scored and assisted on two other goals Saturday, sparking the Chicago Fire to a 4-1 rout of D.C. United.
Lindpere set up the game's first score in the 2nd minute, sending an accurate cross to Chris Rolfe, who tapped it in for a quick Chicago lead.

He doubled the advantage in the 11th minute when Jeff Larentowicz eluded a defender and sent him a precise cross, which Lindpere fired into the net.
The Chicago midfielder also helped out on a second Rolfe tally in first-half stoppage time while Mike Magee capped the scoring as the Fire (7-9-3) continued their quest for an Eastern Conference playoff berth.
Luis Silva found the net for United (2-14-4), which lost for the first time in five games.
