Zakopalova claims second-round win at Swedish Open

BASTAD, Sweden, July 17 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Klara Zakopalova used a solid win Wednesday to grab a spot in the quarterfinals of the Collector Swedish Open.

Zakopalova defeated Arantxa Parra Santonja 6-3, 6-1, winning two-thirds of the points on serve and 57 percent when receiving Parra Santonja's serve. She claimed more than 60 percent of the points overall in putting the match away in the second set.

No. 5-seeded Lourdes Dominguez Lino rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 decision over Teliana Pereira in a match that took 2 1/2 hours. Dominguez Lino finished off both of her break opportunities in the final set to secure the win.

Local-favorite Johanna Larsson, seeded eighth, took out Nina Bratchikova 6-2, 6-3 with five breaks and Virginie Razzano advanced with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 win over Alexandra Dulgheru.

The first round was completed Wednesday, with second-seeded Simona Halep dismissing wild-card entrant Rebecca Peterson 6-4, 6-0. Halep has won three of her last four tournaments, including taking the title Sunday at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
