Dominguez Lino, Larsson open Swedish Open with wins

BASTAD, Sweden, July 15 (UPI) -- Seeded players Lourdes Dominguez Lino and Johanna Larsson opened the Collector Swedish Open with impressive wins Monday.

Dominguez Lino, seeded fifth, didn't face a break point in a 6-1, 6-2 win over Anabel Medina Garrigues. She won nearly 75 percent of the points on serve, including 24-of-29 when she got her first serve in.

Larsson, the No. 8-seed, ousted Sofia Arvidsson 6-1, 6-1 in a battle of Swedish players. The match lasted just 61 minutes as Larsson won 60 percent of the points in the match, including six of eight break chances.

Virginie Razzano eliminated seventh-seeded Silvia Soler-Espinosa 7-5, 6-1, cashing in half of her 10 break opportunities.

Also in the first round Monday, Flavia Pennetta topped Mariana Duque-Marino 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 and Arantxa Parra Santonja beat Alla Kudryavtseva 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
