PITTSBURGH, July 13 (UPI) -- Andrew McCutchen tied the score with a homer and then put Pittsburgh ahead with a late RBI Saturday in the Pirates' 4-2 win over the New York Mets.
Pittsburgh was trailing 2-1 in the sixth inning when McCutchen launched a leadoff homer against David Aardsma.
Then in the eighth, pinch-hitter Todd Snider reached on an error by Mets first baseman Ike Davis with one out. One out later, Jose Tabata singled off Greg Burke (0-2), sending Snider to second.
McCutchen then followed with a single past third base, putting the Bucs ahead to stay.
Justin Wilson (6-1) earned the decision with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Jason Grilli turned in a 1-2-3 ninth for his 29th save as Pittsburgh won a third straight.
With the victory, the Pirates pulled into a first-place tie with St. Louis atop the National League Central.
Davis went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mets.
