MLS: New England 2, San Jose 0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass., July 6 (UPI) -- Saer Sene and Dimitry Imbongo Boele each scored Saturday and the New England Revolution bested San Jose for the first time since 2009 with a 2-0 decision.

Sene gave the Revs all the scoring they would need in the 13th minute when he unleashed a long-range shot with his left foot that hit the right corner of the goal off an assist from Lee Nguyen.

New England (6-5-6) doubled its advantage in the 78th minute when Boele slid through the box to put a set-up from Nguyen past goalkeeper Jon Busch.

The Earthquakes (5-9-6) managed to get only two shots on target as its three-game winning streak against New England came to end.
