He was backed by plenty of offense with Jackson going 4-for-5. He scored four times and drove in three runs while helping the Tigers to their third straight victory.

Detroit built a 4-0 lead through three innings and then piled it on late in the game. Jackson had an RBI single during Detroit's three-run sixth and added a two-run homer in the eighth.

The first seven Detroit runs were charged to starting pitcher Esmil Rogers (3-4), who surrendered 11 hits in five innings.

Toronto's lone run came in the ninth off Darin Downs. The Blue Jays have lost eight out of 11 since putting together an 11-game winning streak.
