Luiten shoots 66 in third-round, takes lead at Irish Open

MAYNOOTH, Ireland, June 29 (UPI) -- Joost Luiten shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 Saturday to take a 1-shot lead after three rounds of the Irish Open.

Luiten birdied three holes on the back nine and hit the clubhouse with a 54-hole score of 13-under 203, one stroke ahead of Pablo Larrazabal, who also carded 66.

Luiten, who is seeking his second European Tour victory this month, was pleased with the performance particularly because of the blustery winds whipping around Carton House Golf Club.

"A round in this wind with no bogeys is always good," he said.

The wind appeared to get to second-round leader Robert Rock, who limped to a 71 and fell into third place at 10-under after shooting 67 and 66 in the first two rounds.
