BOSTON, June 24 (UPI) -- Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland scored 17 seconds apart late in the third period Monday, rallying Chicago over Boston 3-2 for the Stanley Cup title.
Milan Lucic had given the Bruins a 2-1 lead with a goal off the blocker of Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford with 7:49 to go in the final frame.
But Chicago came back as time was winding down, notching the equalizer with 1:16 remaining when Bickell corralled a pass from Jonathan Toews and beat Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask with a quick shot from the right side of the net.
Then only 17 seconds later, Chicago stunned the Bruins when Johnny Oduya's shot from the point clanged off the post and the rebound came into the crease, where Bolland shoveled it home for the go-ahead tally.
Toews also scored and Crawford turned aside 23-of-25 shots for the Blackhawks, who earned their second NHL championship in four years after finishing the lockout-shortened regular season with the league's best record (36-7-5).
Boston, which won the Stanley Cup two years ago, finished the finals with a third straight loss after going up in the series 2-games-to-1.
Chris Kelly scored in the first period and Rask finished with 28 saves for Boston.
