Then in the 10th, the Pirates loaded the bases with one out against Kevin Jepsen (0-2) and Snider sliced a hit for a go-ahead RBI single, but left fielder Shuck overran it, allowing two more runs to score.

After Dane De La Rosa took the mound, Andrew McCutchen and Russell Martin delivered back-to-back singles, providing the eventual game-winning run for a 10-6 lead.

Mark Melancon (2-1) got the win with a scoreless ninth but Bucs closer Jason Grilli struggled to hold onto the lead in the bottom of the 10th.

He allowed run-scoring singles to Alberto Callaspo, Shuck and Brendan Harris before striking out Mike Trout with the winning runs in scoring position to end the game.
