SAN DIEGO, June 22 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers hit a couple of homers Saturday to back Zack Greinke's eight innings of one-run ball while breezing to a 6-1 defeat of San Diego.
Greinke (4-2) baffled the Padres, limiting them to four hits and a walk. He struck out eight en route to his second victory in five June starts.
The Dodgers broke open a close game with four runs in the sixth as Adrian Gonzalez socked a solo homer and Skip Schumaker added the second of his two RBI following a run-scoring error by shortstop Pedro Ciriaco.
Hanley Ramirez added a bases-empty home run in the next frame as Los Angeles evened its three-game series.
San Diego's Edinson Volquez (5-6) was tagged with the loss, giving up five runs (two earned) on just two hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Jesus Guzman provided the only RBI for the Padres.
