Bruins' Patrice Bergeron hospitalized during Stanley Cup Finals

CHICAGO, June 22 (UPI) -- Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron was hospitalized after leaving Saturday's Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Chicago.

The team announced Bergeron, who has nine goals and six assists in 20 playoff games, was "taken to a local hospital in Chicago for observation."

He appeared to be shaken up after coming to a stop behind the net in the second period of the contest, although there was no contact on the play.

He skated to the bench under his own power and remained there for a short time before leaving for the dressing room.

Chicago won the contest 3-1 to grab a 3-2 lead in the series.
