NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass., June 21 (UPI) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in a homicide investigation, WBZ-AM, Boston, reported Friday.

Citing a law enforcement source it did not identify, the radio station said Hernandez faces arrest for obstruction of justice in the investigation into the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester.

Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head Monday in a North Attleboro field about a half mile from Hernandez's home.

The source said the charges could be upgraded as the investigation proceeds.

Lloyd had been driving a sport utility vehicle rented in Hernandez's name.

An investigator close to the probe said Hernandez was found to have destroyed his home security system, including video surveillance equipment, ABC News reported.
