BOCA RATON, Fla., June 20 (UPI) -- At least two public altercations in South Florida resulted from watching the NBA Finals game between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs, police said.
Mark Archer, 44, admitted to police he struck a Spurs fan in the face at "100 miles per hour" Tuesday evening after he became upset with the comments the man made to Archer's son, age 11 and a Heat fan.
Archer was charged with battery in the attack, during the game at a sports bar in Boca Raton, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Thursday.
In a Delray Beach sports bar, Cassius Quince, 26, threw items around the bar after the game went into overtime and refused to leave, yelling obscenities and racial comments. When an officer attempted to take Quince from the bar to jail, Chaloner Saintillus, 26, ran behind the officer and yelled racial slurs to incite a gathering crowd to fight the arrest, a police arrest report said.
Quince and Saintillus were both jailed, Saintillus was charged with inciting a riot, the newspaper said.
Miami defeated San Antonio, 103-100, Tuesday to force a seventh and final game in the series Thursday.
