Evgeny Donskoy rallies over John Isner in the Netherlands

S'HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, June 17 (UPI) -- Russian Evgeny Donskoy pulled off an upset of second-seeded American John Isner Monday in first-round play of the grass-court Topshelf Open.

Donskoy rallied after dropping the first set to bounce the 6-foot-9 Isner 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-4 at Autotron Rosmalen in the Netherlands.

Joining Isner in the ranks of Day 2 upset victims at the Wimbledon tune-up were No. 6 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, seventh-seeded Romanian Victor Hanescu and No. 8 Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver.

Argentine Carlos Berlocq breezed past Baghdatis 6-2, 6-4 while Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez dispatched Hanescu 6-4, 6-3.

Russian Andrey Kuznetsov, meanwhile, handled Gimeno-Traver 7-6 (7-4).

Other Monday winners included Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut and Italian Paolo Lorenzi.
