MLB: Chicago Cubs 5, New York Mets 2

NEW YORK, June 15 (UPI) -- Scott Feldman baffled New York on two hits over seven innings and drove in a pair of runs Saturday, boosting the Chicago Cubs over the Mets 5-2.

Feldman (6-5) yielded one run in the efficient, 106-pitch performance, retiring the final 12 batters he faced. The right-hander issued one walk and struck out six.

The hurler helped his own cause at the plate during a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. With runners on second and third and two outs, he served an 0-1 pitch from New York's Jonathon Niese into center field for a two-run single.

Starlin Castro added a two-run double in the eighth inning and Kevin Gregg picked up his ninth save for the Cubs, who clinched their three-game series.

Niese (3-6) was tagged with the loss after surrendering two runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Jordany Valdespin and David Wright each drove in a run for the Mets, who suffered their sixth loss in seven games.
