MIAMI, June 11 (UPI) -- Giancarlo Stanton belted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning Tuesday, rallying the Miami Marlins over Milwaukee 5-4.
Trailing 4-3 in the eighth, Juan Pierre logged a one-out infield single against Jim Henderson (2-2) and after Ed Lucas struck out, Stanton cracked the first pitch he saw over the left-center field fence for the decisive blow.
The comeback made a winner of Chad Qualls (2-0), who tossed scoreless top of the eighth, and Steve Cishek recorded a 1-2-3 ninth as the Marlins evened their three-game series.
Derek Dietrich also smacked a two-run homer in the victory.
Aramis Ramirez, Jonathan Lucroy, Yuniesky Betancourt and Scooter Gennett each drove in a run for the Brewers, whose four-game winning streak was snapped.
