Juan Martin del Potro, Sam Querrey advance at Queen's Club

LONDON, June 11 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Juan Martin del Potro returned from an illness with a win and No. 6 Sam Querrey also advanced Tuesday in Round 2 of the Aegon Championships.

Argentina's Del Potro, who missed the French Open while recuperating, got back on track with an intense 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-5 decision over Belgium's Xavier Malisse at The Queen's Club in London.

Meanwhile, 2010 Queen's Club champion and sixth-seeded Querrey of the United States took a 7-6 (13-11), 5-7, 7-6 (7-5) decision over Slovenian Aljaz Bedene for his 200th career win and fellow American Denis Kudla upset ninth-seeded Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-4.

Two other scheduled second-round match-ups involving fifth-seeded defending champ Marin Cilic of Croatia and 10th-seeded Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov were postponed because of rain and darkness.

First-round matches completed Tuesday saw No. 11 Julien Benneteau of France, No. 12 Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic, No. 13 Jarkko Nieminen of Finland, No. 14 Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan, No. 16 Grega Zemlja of Slovenia and France's Michael Llodra each post a victory.

Spanish qualifier Feliciano Lopez, Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, German Benjamin Becker and France's Kenny De Schepper also moved on to the second round.
