Joost Luiten hangs on to win Lyoness Open

ATZENBRUGG, Austria, June 9 (UPI) -- Joost Luiten's 71 Sunday was his highest score of the week but it was good enough for a two-stroke victory at the Lyoness Open in Austria.

Luiten finished the day 1-under and recorded a 17-under 271 for the tournament, his first career title on the European Tour.

Luiten bogeyed the first and 11th holes and had only one birdie on the back nine.

"It was a long day, I started off with a bogey but I hit the ball nicely so I just wanted to focus on that, hit the greens, 2-putt and make the others chase me," said Luiten.

The round kept Luiten just ahead of Thomas Bjorn, who birdied the final hole to finish the round with a 68 and sole possession of second place at 15-under 273.

Wen-Chong Liang shot a 66 for the low round of the day and shared third place at 14-under with Romain Wattel (69).
