PITTSFORD, N.Y., June 8 (UPI) -- Morgan Pressel carded a 2-under-par 70 Saturday, forging a two-shot lead after two rounds of the rain-delayed LPGA Championship.
Pressel overcame soggy conditions at Locust Hill Country Club to put herself in position for her first victory since 2008, finishing two rounds at 6-under-par 138.
Top-ranked Inbee Park charged into contention with a 4-under 68, pulling into a second-place tie with first-round leader Chella Choi (73), who won the season's first major -- the Kraft Nabisco Championship -- in April.
Knotted for fourth place at 3-under were Jiyai Shin (73), Amy Yang (70) and Sarah Jane Smith (69).
Na Yeon Choi (70), Brittany Lincicome (73), Angela Stanford (71), Catriona Matthew (71) and Sun Young Yoo (69) shared seventh at minus-2.
The competitors face 36 holes of golf Sunday, with both the third and fourth rounds scheduled to be held after Thursday's rain-out.
