MLB: Oakland 6, Milwaukee 1

MILWAUKEE, June 5 (UPI) -- Bartolo Colon collected his fourth consecutive victory in pitching the Oakland Athletics to a 6-1 interleague win Wednesday over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The A's have been nearly as hot as Colon, winning 16 of their last 19 games.

Colon (7-2), who turned 40 May 24, scattered eight hits and two walks, with four strikeouts, over seven innings against Milwaukee. In his last four starts he's allowed three runs on 28 hits in 30 innings.

He surrendered an infield single to Jean Segura with one out in the first before Carlos Gomez hit a drive to deep center for a stand-up RBI triple and 1-0 lead.

Oakland managed just one hit off Brewers' starter Yovani Gallardo until the fifth when Jed Lowrie and Josh Donaldson each singled. Milwaukee got a double play on a Seth Smith grounder but Lowrie tied the score on the play.

John Jaso led off the Oakland seventh with a walk and Yoenis Cespedes and Lowrie each singled, loading the bases. Donaldson sent a single to right, scoring two runs, and, after Michael Gonzalez replaced Gallardo and got an out, Brandon Moss smashed his ninth home run of the season to complete a five-run rally.
