Tebow mania over, as well as his career, advisers say

NEW YORK, May 31 (UPI) -- The mania over Tim Tebow, a melange of faith, football and fame, and his career in the NFL, is likely over, his close advisers privately admit.

An article in the June 10 issue of ESPN The Magazine says the meteoric rise and fall of quarterback Tebow, over 18 months, referred to him as football's Kim Kardashian: overexposed, divisive and popular, noting "members of his camp (are) privately admitting that his NFL run is probably over."

Tebow brought a dedication to football and outspoken Christian devotion to the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets that resulted in his popularity among fans, the article mentioned, along with a "scattershot arm (that) left teammates and coaches scratching their heads and ducking for cover."

Since being cut by the Jets, Tebow remains unclaimed, the football world divided over his legacy and future.

"It's nearly impossible to find a teammate who will say anything bad about Tebow as a person or a scout who will say anything good about him as a player," ESPN The Magazine said.
