"We've has a great executive board meeting," Rogge said. "We considered the Games' scale boundaries because there were too many sports, and decided 28 would be enough. The (national sports) federations decided that it is possible to include new events at the expense of the old."

Rogge said the IOC had added too few sports in the past few years, and the dynamics of world sport have changed, the Russian news agency ITAR-Tass reported.
