Starter Wandy Rodriguez (6-2) lasted just long enough to earn the win, yielding three runs on seven hits.

Vin Mazzaro and Mark Melancon combined for three scoreless relief frames and Jason Grilli racked up his MLB-best 20th save for the Pirates.

Milwaukee's Yovani Gallardo (3-5) was touched for four runs on five hits over four full frames.
